a. this is really solid melodic hardcore/blackgaze with some fantastic lyrics but I also wanted to single out the fact that their genre is tagged as "post Beowulf" bc it made me smile.

1.
Ghastly stranger, famed wanderer, Cain’s kin. Eat the flesh, eat your fill of slaughter. (The predestination was too strong.) Fear no feud. Wage war. Hate the other while he lives. Tear the shoulder open. Tear the sinew, tear the bone-locks. Shadow-glider, dread demon. Drink the blood, rip it open. (Flee to the fens, the sickness unto death.) Lug the corpse. Crush all kin. Purge the loathsome line.
2.
Dead Hero 06:42
Weider-Geats, go with sorrow. Under eagle’s sea-cliff, through swollen tears, study the bodies on the sand, descending. Once, they had stolen the joy of the sky, flying in the darkness and again, descending. Now let us wonder what happens when the revered reaches the end. The hoard was opened, grimly purchased. The predestination was too strong. Prepare the pyre, ready it quickly. Then we may carry our king.
3.
The Wretch 07:31
Covered in blood, she takes his hand. Sorrow’s renewed, everyone’s dead. Terrible beast, wandering death. The harmful creature has her vengeance, leaves for water. Two wretched creatures, woman and man, trod the exiled wolf-slopes and fen-paths. Surging waves well upward toward dark clouds. A harsh wind, a grieving storm. The sky opens and weeps. Despairing life, dig dire the hard-gripped edge into the beast’s neck. Break the bone-rings. The blade runs through her flesh-home, now she’s dead. Rejoice in this work, sword sweating blood. Light gleaming, a redness growing within. You must finish the son.
